This remminds me that there was a pending project named "Ageless Greatwars" that basically is a compilation of factions with similar thematic, that while not being exactly what you asking for, but is kinda similar.
Might consider working on that pretty soon because I've only worked on new units and factions but got no motivation to get into this.
