Regrettably, you'd need to replay from 'kirar valley' to have Khafir back. Or manually modify a save at the end of that scenario to tell the game that the side isn't lost. I did it for you, in case you are happy to replay it starting from 'peacekeeping' (and the previous cut scene) to have your original Khafi and recall list back.

I'll probably use that save file to continue when there are new scenarios.

I think you did. I'm conflicted about it; she's a hero as a relevant character to the story, but she's also a mercenary. She explicitly says in the second scenario, that even if she's prevented from using magic at will

That's a fair point. Maybe add it as a note in the scenario objectives? That would clarify that this unusual behavior is not a bug.

Man, when I see your replays, I always think I'm going too soft, you didn't even recruit with Yantz in 'the Call of the Sands' I know it wasn't the main battle, but I feel so tempted to unleash my centipedes now
The Kirar also looks a bit easy now
