2) 9. It's not that difficult with the right Malek AMLA, but I can see it being a real problem with the wrong ones. It's also pretty difficult to finish it with no savescumming, otherwise it's pretty easy.

I'll break the answer pattern to say that this is the only scenario that I preferred in an earlier version. The first part was a cool challange and something enjoyable with a properly level hero, but it ruins the gravity of the transition to undeath IMO. I also disliked the dragon bossfight in the end. Wesnoth great dragons are really rare, something lately reinforced by the drake campaign.
I'd restore the level to the previous state while somehow keeping most of the very cool monologues.
It's also a real shame to lose all of the AMLA bonuses on the transition to being a lich. I think it'll be really cool if those were ported over, while at the same time limiting his advancement to the lich stage (it feels really weird to have him become an ancient lich so soon. If you really want him to be ancient, that could happen on the third, if not a later stage of endless night)
